Start from Sonamarg

Begin your ride from the picturesque town of Sonamarg, also known as the "Meadow of Gold." Situated at the foothills of the Zoji La Pass, Sonamarg is surrounded by lush green meadows, glistening glaciers, and snow-capped peaks.

Ride to Zojila Pass

Cycle along the Srinagar-Leh Highway, which traverses through the rugged terrain of the Himalayas. The road to Zojila Pass is challenging yet incredibly rewarding, with panoramic views of towering mountains and deep valleys. As you ascend to an altitude of over 11,000 feet, you'll experience the thrill of conquering one of the highest passes in the region.

Pause for Scenic Views

Along the way, take breaks to admire the stunning vistas and capture memorable photos of the surrounding landscapes. The dramatic scenery, with its rocky cliffs, alpine meadows, and gushing streams, will leave you in awe of nature's grandeur

Explore Glacier Fields

Zero Point is situated at an altitude of approximately 11,000 feet above sea level in the Drass Valley, often referred to as the "Gateway to Ladakh." It is located about 35 kilometers from the town of Kargil and around 150 kilometers from Leh, the capital of Ladakh.

  1. Drass:
    • Guest houses such as Alpine Kargil, Hotel Green Hill, or similar accommodations in Drass might suit your preferences.
  2. Khangral:
    • As Khangral might be a remote location, specific guesthouses might not be prevalent. You might explore local guesthouse options available on-site or nearby.
  3. Khalsi:
    • Khalsi, being a smaller settlement, might not have standard guesthouse options. You may explore local guesthouse accommodations or homestays in the area.

The Srinagar to Leh Khardunla  is graded introductory to moderate. You will need a reasonable level of fitness and we suggest 90 minutes of cycling  three to five times a week for the three months leading up to your trip. Some of the trail is on hard packed gravel, some passes are in high altitude which can be rough and uneven in places and there are plenty of hills. We recommend practice cycling up hills and on gravel before your tour, it will make the experience more enjoyable.

Srinagar To Leh Khardungla Trail is Sealed Road. Most of these road are quite- back Roads. Cyclist need to aware about Traffic rules.
