For those arriving earlier in the day, we can arrange a sightseeing tour of Delhi, allowing you to explore its rich cultural heritage and iconic landmarks. From the historical charm of Old Delhi to the modern splendor of New Delhi, there’s plenty to experience.
Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel, where you can relax and prepare for the exciting adventure ahead.
After a hearty breakfast, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Chandigarh, which takes approximately 4–5 hours. Upon arrival, you’ll check in to your hotel and have some time to relax.
If time permits and you’re interested, we can explore the charming city of Chandigarh in the evening. Known for its modern architecture and lush greenery, the city offers attractions such as the Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake, and Rose Garden.
Dinner will be arranged at a local city restaurant, where you can enjoy a delicious meal. Conclude the day with an overnight stay at the hotel, resting up for the journey ahead.

Important Tips for Day 2

  • Flights to Manali:
While flights from Delhi to Manali exist, they are often unreliable due to weather conditions and can be prohibitively expensive (USD 250–300 per person). For this reason, we don’t typically include flights in our plans. However, if anyone is willing to take a chance and prefers flying to save travel time, we can explore this option at the time of booking and adjust the cost accordingly.
  • Bus Services to Manali:
There are overnight bus services available from Delhi to Manali, which depart around 11 PM and arrive in Manali by approximately 11 AM the following day. These buses are a cost-effective option, with tickets priced at USD 20–25 per person. If this option appeals to you, we can assist with booking your bus tickets.
  • Planned Itinerary:
Currently, our itinerary is based on driving from Delhi to Manali on Day 3, as it offers more reliability and convenience for the group.
Note: Should anyone prefer the bus or flight options, we are happy to accommodate these requests and will make the necessary adjustments to the itinerary and costs.
After breakfast, we’ll begin our scenic journey to Manali, aiming to leave Chandigarh early to maximize our time in this picturesque Himalayan town. The drive offers stunning views of mountains, valleys, and rivers, setting the tone for the adventure ahead.
Manali, located at an altitude of 2,050 meters (7,625 feet) in Himachal Pradesh, is perfect for acclimatization, a crucial aspect of preparing for the high-altitude challenges of the tour. On arrival, we’ll assist with hotel check-in and provide ample time for everyone to rest and acclimatize.
For those flying in, we can arrange a pickup from Bhuntar Airport, the nearest airport to Manali.
Later, we’ll gather for a meet-and-greet session to discuss the tour plan and answer any questions. During your free time, explore the charming Old Manali, known for its bohemian vibe, quaint cafes, and local culture.
End the day with a delicious dinner and a relaxing overnight stay at the hotel.

Important Tips for Day 2

  • Check your bike thoroughly.
  • You may consult your doctor for AMS prescribed medicine or medicine to help you with AMS or acclimatization.
The Manali-Leh Cycling Tour officially begins today as we leave the lush green Beas Valley and the bustling hill town of Manali behind. This town, historically marking the start of an ancient trade route to Ladakh, sets the stage for our northward ascent to the iconic Rohtang Pass.
Cycling through a series of loops and bends, we pass picturesque villages like Palchan, Kothi, and Gulaba, each offering stunning vistas and a glimpse of local mountain life. The ride culminates at Marhi, located just 12 kilometers short of Rohtang Pass. This serene spot provides a panoramic view of the Pir Panjal Mountain Range, making the day’s effort truly rewarding.

Key Details

  • Cycling Distance:21 miles (35 km)
  • Altitude:3,320 meters (10,890 feet)
  • Accommodation:Overnight camping under the stars

Important tips for Day 4

  • Keep yourself regularly hydrated.
  • The stretch has high traffic with some rash driving as well. Be cautious and keep yourself on extreme left.
  • Start as early as possible to beat the traffic and also to reach Marhi before the sun sets.
The day starts on a thrilling note as we tackle a steep ascent to the iconic Rohtang Pass, the first of the five high-altitude passes on the journey to Leh. Standing tall at an altitude of 3,978 meters (13,051 feet), Rohtang Pass is often blanketed in snow even during the summer months. After reaching the top, we’ll take a short break to soak in the stunning panoramic views of the Lahaul Valley’s snow-clad peaks and recharge before continuing our journey.
The descent from Rohtang Pass is a cyclist’s delight. As the traffic diminishes, the ride becomes more serene as we pass through the village of Gramphu and cycle alongside the Chandra River, enjoying the tranquil beauty of the region. The day concludes at Keylong, a charming town known for its serene environment and monasteries.

  • Never get too excited after reaching the pass. It is not even a midway and you need to ride more before calling it a day.
  • There are temporary toilets 500 mt before the Rohtang Pass.
  • There is one shop which repairs tier right after the Koksar Bridge.
After an overnight stay in Keylong to aid acclimatization, Day 6 offers a steady and scenic ride along the Bhaga River, as we leave Keylong behind. The vegetation gradually diminishes, giving way to the stark and mesmerizing beauty of the arid Himalayan landscape.
Cycling through this remote region, human settlements become rare. Occasionally, you may encounter a herd of sheep grazing in the vast, barren expanse. On the horizon, the majestic higher Himalayan ranges come into view, offering breathtaking vistas.
The ride takes us through the quiet hamlets of Jispa and Darcha, where you can briefly soak in the tranquility of these remote villages. The day ends with an ascent to the small settlement of Patseo, located in a serene and rugged setting.
This stage is intentionally designed as a relatively easier day of cycling to conserve your energy for the more challenging climbs awaiting you on Day 7.

At an altitude of 4,891 meters (16,046 feet), we reach the summit of Baralach La, marking our entry into the Great Himalayas. From this point forward, you’ll be immersed in the pristine, untouched beauty of the Himalayan landscape, which has remained largely unchanged for millennia. The only sign of human presence is the road that winds through this rugged terrain.

The thin air at the pass may challenge your fitness levels, but it’s a short climb before we descend to Pang.
The descent from Lachung La to Pang is a 25 km downhill stretch, offering breathtaking views of the rugged landscape. Stay safe and enjoy the ride!
After a tiring Day 8, we begin with a 5 km climb to enter the Morie Plains, a vast stretch of flat terrain surrounded by stunning multi-colored mountains. The Morie Plains, at an average elevation of 4,800 meters, is one of the most captivating landscapes of the tour, with beautiful rock formations on both sides. The smooth, flat road makes cycling here enjoyable as we traverse wide valleys.
After soaking in the beauty of the plains, we cycle through Taglang La Pass, the second-highest motorable pass in our expedition, at an elevation of 5,328 meters. The climb to the top is about 15 km long, but the sense of accomplishment when you reach the summit is unbeatable.

  • Face Protection: Cover your face with cloth after the pass to block dust and smoke.
  • Army Camp in Pang: Domestic and international calls available for a fee (domestic calls under Rs. 2/min).
The toughest part of the tour is behind us, and today we enjoy a relatively easier ride towards Leh. The landscape changes as we enter the fertile Ladakh valleys, with striking red-colored mountains lining the road. Along the way, we will encounter the Indus River, the river after which India is named, and pass through small villages and stupas.
This day marks our entry into the heart of Buddhist culture, as we cycle past iconic monasteries like Thiksey, Hemis, and Shey. We may stop at one or two, depending on the schedule.
