Day wise itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Manali & Acclimatization

Upon arrival at the Manali bus stand, our ground team will greet you and arrange your transfer to the hotel. Here, you’ll meet your fellow riders and settle in on the first day of the tour. After some rest and lunch, we’ll gather for a briefing session to go over the tour details, distribute essentials, and prepare for the journey ahead. Following the session, we’ll head out for a short orientation and acclimatization ride. In the evening, after dinner, we’ll turn in early to ensure our bodies are well-rested for the start of the expedition the next day.

Day 2 : Manali to Marhi

Stay at Campsite, Marhi | Cycling: 35 km
Altitude: 1950m to 3300m | Duration: 5-6 hours

Today marks the start of an unforgettable journey! After an early breakfast, we begin our Manali-Leh-KhardungLa cycling adventure. Set off on your bike, riding through a breathtaking valley surrounded by lush green fields and majestic mountains. The scenery feels perfectly crafted for adventure cyclists, offering both beauty and challenge. As we navigate winding hairpin turns, the road leads us to the quaint town of Marhi. This day’s ride will fuel your excitement and prepare you for the incredible expedition that lies ahead.

Day 3 : Marhi to Sissu

Stay at Hotel, Sissu | Cycling: 54 km
Pass: Rohtang Pass
Altitude: Marhi (3300m) to Rohtang Pass (3980m) | Rohtang to Sissu (3130m)
Duration: 7-8 hours

Today’s adventure begins with an 18 km ascent to our first major milestone: Rohtang Pass. As we climb, stunning views of snow-capped glaciers await us on the horizon. After a well-deserved break at the top of Rohtang Pass, we begin a thrilling descent towards the Khoksar River. Following a relaxed ride and some refreshments, we continue our journey to the charming town of Sissu, nestled at the base of the Pir Panjal range.

Day 4 : Sissu to Jispa

Stay at Swiss Tents, Jispa | Cycling: 52 km
Altitude: 3130m to 3200m
Duration: 7-8 hours

After a restful night in Sissu, gear up for the ride to Jispa, another scenic village in the Lahaul Valley. Pedal through breathtaking landscapes surrounded by towering mountains and rivers on both sides. Enjoy the captivating journey as you pass through Tandi, then ascend to Keylong, renowned for its Kardang Monastery. After the climb, relish a thrilling downhill ride that brings you to Jispa. Once there, rest and recharge as you prepare for the challenging Baralacha La Pass ahead.

Day 5 : Jispa to Sarchu

Stay at Swiss Tent, Sarchu | Cycling: 84 km
Pass: Baralacha La
Altitude: Jispa (3200m) to Darcha (3360m) | Darcha to Baralacha La (4850m) | Baralacha La to Sarchu (4290m)
Duration: 8-10 hours

Today’s ride begins with a descent before the climb towards Sarchu. This day marks your first true encounter with complete isolation from the outside world. The gradual ascent towards Baralacha La, the second pass of the route, begins via Zing Zing Bar. As you pedal through this challenging yet awe-inspiring terrain, you’ll be treated to stunning views of snow-covered mountains and open plains. On the way, you’ll pass army camps and hospitals, offering support if needed. After a long day of cycling, we’ll arrive in Sarchu, where you’ll rest for the night in Swiss tents.

Day 6 : Sarchu to Whisky Nala

Stay at Camp Whisky Nala | Cycling: 48 km
Pass: Nakeela Pass
Altitude: Sarchu (4290m) to Nakeela (4789m) Nakeela to Whisky Nala (4600m)
Duration: 7-8 hours

The day begins with a thrilling challenge—climbing 21 hairpin loops that lead to some rolling terrain, offering a brief respite before the ascent to the third pass of the journey, Nakeela Pass. Once at the top, it’s time for the much-anticipated downhill ride, a highlight for every cyclist. The scenic route rewards all your hard work with breathtaking views, making the effort well worth it. We’ll arrive at Whisky Nala and settle in to relax at our campsite domes for the night.

Day 7 : Whisky Nala to Debring

Stay at Campsite, Debring | Cycling: 81 km
Pass: Lachulung La
Altitude: Whisky Nala (4600m) to Lachulung La (5067m) | Lachulung La to Debring (4765m)
Duration: 8-10 hours

Today’s ride is a long-distance challenge, but it comes with the reward of a mostly downhill stretch. After a climb to Lachulung La, the fourth pass, you’ll enjoy a thrilling descent. The highlight of the day is riding through the More Plains, a vast 40 km stretch at an altitude of 4800 meters, with stunning mountain ranges flanking both sides. The mostly flat terrain of the plains offers a welcome break from the steep ascents. After an exhilarating ride, we’ll reach Debring and settle into our campsite for the night.

Day 8 : Debring to Rumtse

Stay at Hotel, Rumtse | Cycling: 46 km
Pass: Taglang La
Altitude: Debring (4765m) to Taglang La (5328m) | Taglang La to Rumtse (4166m)
Duration: 7-8 hours

Today’s ride takes you across the More Plains at an altitude of 4800 meters, heading towards Taglang La, the 12th highest motorable road in the world. The climb to this iconic pass is challenging due to the low oxygen levels, but reaching the top of Taglang La after an 18 km ascent is a major highlight of the Manali to Leh cycling expedition. The pass is adorned with colorful prayer flags, and a small temple nearby offers a moment of reflection and blessings. Surrounded by the cold, rugged beauty of Ladakh’s dramatic landscapes, the feeling of accomplishment is immense. After soaking in the views, you’ll descend towards Rumtse, cycling through snow-covered mountains before arriving at your hotel for a well-deserved rest.

Day 9 : Rumtse to Leh

Stay at Hotel, Leh | Cycling: 78 km
Altitude: Rumtse (4166m) to Leh (3500m)
Duration: 8-9 hours

Get ready for an exhilarating ride as we cycle towards our final destination! Today marks the last day of your Manali to Leh cycling expedition. As you pedal along, you’ll notice the barren landscape gradually giving way to vibrant flora and fauna. Your journey will take you through Upshi, a quaint village in the Ladakh region, situated along the banks of the Indus River Valley. You’ll cross a bridge over the Indus River, the longest river in Asia. The route from Rumtse to Leh is known as Tso-Kar, named after the lake famous for its snow-white color. After a few more kilometers of cycling, you’ll arrive in Leh, completing this incredible adventure.

Day 10 : Leh to Khardungla and Back to Leh

Altitude: Leh (3500m) to Khardungla (5359m) and back to Leh (3500m)
Duration: 7-8 hours

After an early breakfast, we set out for the legendary Khardungla Pass, often referred to as Almighty-Khardungla due to its rugged terrain and challenging conditions. As you climb through the Karakoram and Zanskar mountain ranges, you’ll cycle along one of the world’s highest motorable roads. The stunning scenery along the way adds to the adventure. Upon reaching the top of Khardungla, take a moment to celebrate your incredible achievement. Feel the pride and joy of conquering this remarkable pass before we begin the descent back to Leh, where you can reflect on your journey.
